Poppy

Poppy is a 3-year-old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier Cross-Breed. She’s a shy but deeply affectionate girl who lights up with warmth once she feels safe. Her loyalty runs deep, and she loves nothing more than curling up close to her favourite person. She was a star in her foster home — clean, house-trained, and gentle around the home. Like many Staffies, she’s not a fan of rainy days, and she can be wary of household items like hoovers or mops, though reassurance helps her feel more settled. She also enjoys cheekily sneaking off with socks or small objects, occasionally guarding them, so an experienced home is ideal. Poppy is clever, food-motivated, and thrives with calm boundaries and positive reinforcement. Out on walks, she has improved massively and now enjoys exploring quieter routes. Busy environments can overwhelm her, so rural or peaceful surroundings suit her best. She travels well, loves little adventures, and even enjoyed holidays in the Lake District, happily joining longer walks. At the same time, she’s equally content snoozing during downtime. Socially, she’s selective with other dogs and needs to be the only pet. She also cannot live with cats due to a strong chase instinct. Poppy can show mild separation anxiety but mainly because she longs for connection and security. She’s seeking an adult-only, calm home where she can settle, feel protected, and continue growing into her confident, loving self.
