Meet MURPHY, a gentle, loving, and resilient small boy around 4.5 years old, who resembles a charming mix of Corgi and Chihuahua. He is a Ukraine war dog in need of a safe haven. He lost one eye in a horrific incident in Ukraine, but his spirit remains unbroken. He’s now in the UK and looking for a forever home where he can be cherished. Sadly, the family who took him in feels they are not the right match for him and are unable to meet his needs. They have provided a thorough evaluation of MURPHY, which you can read below. SIZE: Small (38 cm shoulder height / 10 kg) SPAYED/NEUTERED: Yes CHARACTER HIGHLIGHTS: Gentle, Loving, Calm, Placid DOGS: Friendly with other dogs CATS: Not tested CHILDREN: Good with older kids 12+ Tragically, some cruel teenagers thought it would be amusing to chase MURPHY and throw a petard into his kennel. After the explosion, MURPHY was left severely injured, his face burned and bleeding, and his eye tragically lost. However, despite this horror, MURPHY’s spirit remained unbroken. Since then he was taken into care and fostered for. A highly independent little soul, he loves his alone time and is never anxious in these periods. He loves his sleep and will find sun spots and cozy little nooks to snuggle up in. Positives ? Good to be left alone for short periods, very calm and sleeps a lot ? Doesn’t destroy things in house ? Independent ? Enjoys good play time and belly rubs when he rolls over ? Not a fussy eater ? Will sit for snacks and treats ? Handsome ? Very low maintenance, will shed a couple times a year. ? Travels well, loves car and train journeys Needs ? Child free house ? A quieter house, less footfall to not disturb him ? Only dog in house Things to know ? Give him space and wait for him to come to you. He will and he loves chin and ear scratches ? Resource guard, work on splitting his meals up and make him back away from food bowl before topping up. He has improved. ? Don’t pick him up ? Leave alone when in his bed (trained safe space) ? Keep on lead when on walks ? Takes pain relief pills for previous accident. – has snapped on occasion, when was misunderstood, but not regularly and not his fault. Needs patience and understanding for all he’s been through Due to his injuries and impaired vision he can be easily startled if approached from his right. Requiring a very calm and peaceful life. Super low maintenance and highly independent, he is equally happy when alone or in company of owners. Give him space and wait for him to come to you, he loves chin and ear scratches. He’s a great little dog to have around and keep you company. He will nuzzle up to you for some love and scratches and then spend the rest of night tucked up in his bed. He has adapted well to his new life in the UK and is very healthy. Fully vaccinated and blood tests all came back healthy. He doesn’t require long walks and can be tired out after half hour to an hour” MURPHY is fully healthy (but missing one eye), neutered. All core vaccines are complete, microchipped, and C.Brucella tested (owners will receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
