Amos

Amos is a 7-year-old male Mioritic Shepherd. He has spent an incredibly long 4 years in a private shelter in Romania and is now ready to find a loving forever home. Amos is a large dog, standing at 62cm tall and weighing around 32kg, with a big, fluffy coat that reflects his gentle nature. Amos is very friendly with other dogs and currently lives peacefully in a kennel alongside two female dogs and one male dog. His temperament is loving and affectionate once he feels comfortable, though he may be a little shy at first. Patience and understanding will help him build trust as he adjusts to a new environment. Having spent most of his life in a shelter, Amos is unfamiliar with life in a home. As such, he will need time to adapt, along with guidance and encouragement to learn household routines and boundaries. He enjoys being outside and would thrive in a home with a garden, where he can safely explore and enjoy some freedom. Amos is fully vaccinated, blood tested, microchipped, neutered, and tested negative for brucellosis. He has no known allergies or medical needs. He is looking for a home with someone who has experience with Mioritic Shepherds or similar guardian breeds, as they can have unique traits that benefit from knowledgeable handling. While Amos is still getting used to walking on a lead and harness, he shows enthusiasm for exploring outside. He may have selective hearing at times, especially when excited to be out of his kennel, so consistency and calm training will be important in helping him settle into home life.
