Skye

Meet Skye, a two year old extra large male Cane Corso Cross. He’s a big, bouncy boy full of energy and affection, with that classic Cane Corso enthusiasm that can fill a room. Skye is strong on the lead and tends to pull when out walking, but he’s doing well with muzzle training and is extremely food-motivated — a huge bonus for anyone who enjoys training with treats! Skye hasn’t shown any signs of aggression toward his trusted volunteer in kennels, though he does like to bark at people and dogs — typical Cane Corso behavior. He’s a loving dog who thrives on affection and attention. Skye would do best in a calm home without other pets or children, where he can get consistent training and structure. He’ll need a dedicated owner who understands his background and is willing to help him move forward with patience and guidance. Skye must be walked on a muzzle, 5-point harness, and lead at all times — never off lead — to keep him safe. He generally walks well but can get excited and grab the lead; with ongoing training, he’s learning to stop when told. Skye will need someone around most of the time, with alone time introduced gradually once he’s settled. His new home should have a secure property and garden to prevent escape. While he was house-trained in his previous home, he may need a quick refresher after his time in kennels. Skye has missed out on a lot of love, but with trust and time, he’ll give back tenfold and become a loyal, affectionate companion.
